Hi, I’m João, a passionate graphic designer with a strong foundation in visual storytelling and a commitment to solving problems and creating impactful designs. Throughout my design journey, I had the opportunity to work in creative environments and spent a significant amount of time working on projects that reflect my creativity, dedication and curiosity for design.
My design path has been shaped by a deep interest in self-directed learning and a variety of hands-on projects which allowed me to explore ideas freely. Whether it’s creating visual identities, experimenting with UI/UX design, or simply diving into new tools and techniques, I’m constantly pushing myself to turn ideas into reality.
A pivotal part of my journey was studying in the UK, where I was immersed in new cultures and perspectives that deeply influenced my approach to design. My time abroad wasn’t just about studying; it was about observing how design impacts people globally and how creativity can bridge cultural divides.
I’m excited to continue growing, taking on new challenges, and collaborating with others to bring creative visions to life. If you’d like to connect or discuss potential projects, feel free to reach out!

Patinhas Felizes is an animal shelter founded in 2014 in Funchal. This rebranding embraces a fresh, vibrant identity that reflects the warmth and care they offer to every animal. The new logo, featuring a friendly dog, symbolizes the loyalty and love that this shelter stands for. Placed next to the logotype, the logo-mark creates an immediate connection, making it recognizable and approachable to the community. The identity begins from the idea of creating a visual representation that captures the spirit of the shelter. The choice of orange as the main color is deliberate—it embodies energy, enthusiasm, and a sense of welcoming. Orange is a color that stands out, much like the commitment and passion their team brings to the shelter every day.The design process was centered around making the brand more inclusive and engaging. The visual identity is both simple and impactful, ensuring it resonates with all age groups. The new identity is not just a brand refresh; it’s a celebration of the bond between people and animals, reflecting their mission to find loving homes for these animals.A poster was designed to raise awareness for the benefits of animal neutering as prevention for abandonment of new-born puppies and kittens.
